Mark Moran, BE, MBA. Non-Executive Chairman

Brian Weakliam is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and is a Licentiate of the Institute of Bankers. Brian Weakliam Mark obtained a BE (Chemical) from University College Dublin and an MBA from the Rotterdam School of Management.

Mark was a Non-Executive Director of EBS Building Society for six years, including two years as Chairman.

He is a former Chairman and Chief Executive of the Mater Private Hospital. Prior to joining the Mater Private Hospital, Mark worked for a number of international firms, including Smith Kline Corporation, Millipore Corporation and Centocor Inc.

Brian had a successful career as Accountant, Financial Analyst and Corporate Fees Officer with a major international bank.

Since 1996 he has been using his technical banking expertise, knowledge of banking systems and negotiating experience to advise bank clients.

Joe Weakliam, BSc, PhD. Director
Joe Weakliam was awarded his PhD in April 2007 and subsequently joined the Bankhawk team in the role of Project Manager. Joe Weakliam
Joe completed a BSc degree at University College Dublin in 2001, majoring in Computer Science. In 2003 he enrolled in a PhD program in the School of Computer Science and Informatics at University College Dublin.

Joe was awarded his PhD in April 2007 and subsequently joined the Bankhawk team in the role of Project Manager.

Joe has considerable banking experience having worked with a major international bank in Dublin between 1996 and 2002.

Arthur Barlow, BA, MBA. Senior Consultant
Arthur obtained a BA and an MBA from University College Dublin.

Arthur worked with the Clondalkin Group between 1988 and 2004 where he held a number of senior positions including Vice-President for European Development and Executive Chairman for a number of the Group’s subsidiaries.
Since 2004 Arthur has been working as a management consultant where he uses his unique skills and expertise to assist companies in restructuring their business models and financial structures.



Xin Zuo, BSc, MSc, PhD. IT Manager
Xin Zuo completed a BSc degree at Xi'an Jiaotong University in China in 2002, majoring in Computer Science. Xin Zuo
Xin completed a BSc degree at Xi'an Jiaotong University in China in 2002, majoring in Computer Science. In 2004 Xin concluded his master’s degree in Computational Science at the School of Computer Science and Informatics at University College Dublin, Ireland.

Xin enrolled in a PhD programme at University College Dublin in 2005 and completed his Doctorate degree in April 2009. In May 2007 Xin joined Bankhawk Banking Advisors in the role of Web engineer.


Xin has a vast wealth of expertise in many different areas of IT, including almost 10 years Web development experience.

Lisa Finn, BSc, Banking Analyst


LisaLisa completed a BSc degree at Dublin City University in 2009, obtaining a First Class Honours in Financial & Actuarial Mathematics.
Lisa has considerable expertise in the areas of Risk Theory, Actuarial Modeling, Time Series, Statistics and Complex Analysis. She has developed the mathematical skills to model and value cash flows associated with uncertain future events along with statistical techniques of particular relevance to Financial Services.
Lisa has experience working in Financial Services where she provided independent financial advice in relation to a wide range of investment and protection products for a large Wealth Management firm. Lisa has recently joined Bankhawk in the role of Banking Analyst.

Laoise Ramberg, BComm, MBS, Banking Analyst


LisaLaoise holds a degree in commerce from the National University of Ireland, Galway. In 2008 she completed a Masters in Business Studies at the UCD Michael Smurfit School of Business.
Laoise has extensive knowledge in the areas of strategic management, planning and corporate finance. She also has considerable experience in managing strategic research, information technology and online web-based projects.
Prior to undertaking the position as Banking Analyst with Bankhawk, Laoise held the position of Marketing Executive with a large management consulting firm, focusing primarily on brand awareness and corporate strategy.

Tom Conlon, BComm, MSc. Research and Consultancy

Tom Conlon has had a long career with a major international bank, ranging from branch banking through research, strategy, costing, and payment systems. Tom Conlon

More recently he has been Head of European & Retail Strategy at IPSO. He was a founder member of the European Payments Council and prime author of the Direct Debit Rules.

Tom is an experienced banking expert and is author of the Bankhawk Blog, the most comprehensive banking information blog on the Web.
